Dédale et Icare

FRANCAIS
ENGLISH
The interior decoration of the School of Architecture newly built in Lyon in the late 1980’s, designed by Gilles Perraudin and Francoise Jourda, was based on the ancient myth of Dedalus and Icarus; the acceptance of the shadow, on the one hand, and the intoxication with the light, on the other. I came up with the idea of a nuclear power plant for Icarus and a Christian site for Dedalus. It took me a week to paint Icarus but Dedalus needed two months to complete.
